The Sculptured House was built by US architect Charles Deaton in 1963 in the Genesee Mountain, Jefferson County, Colorado. Deaton never lived in the 7,000 sq. ft. home because he lacked the funds to complete the construction. It went largely unfinished and was vacant for thirty years until software entrepreneur John Huggins purchased the house in 1999. He built a large addition designed by Deaton before the architect’s death in 1996, and commissioned Deaton’s daughter Charlee to design the interior, completed in 2003. It is also known as The Sleeper House because it was featured in the 1973 Woody Allen film “Sleeper.”
