Château d’eau de la Guérinière | Caen, France

This vast 3,000 cubic meters reservoir was built in 1958 by Guillaume Gillet. It is placed on a platform in the shape of an ellipse which was initially accommodate an administrative center and host a covered market. Both projects have failed but the water tower is in working condition, despite its reputation as a spendthrift.

In May 2006, the emblem of the neighborhood Guérinière has been awarded the “Heritage of the twentieth century” and was registered securities historical monuments in 2010. - Via: 1 | 2
